The 42'x60' Solarium defines the center of the main level. The
sheltered living and dining areas are 18'x42' plus a colonnade along the east
side to provide
shelter when transiting to the Master Suite during inclement weather and to
provide
shade for the two-person hammock hung between the pillars at the edge of the
pool. Sliding glass doors allow complete control over the amount of cooling
easterly average 10 knot tradewinds over the deck. A below deck breezeway
funnels the wind under the deck to vortex back over the sundeck area for
ambient cooling. The central location of the solarium and Pegasus' highest point
on the ridge afford complete privacy and spectacular panoramas to both east and
west.

The 10,000 gallon pool is 20'x30' and 7' deep with dual stair
entry and integrated 6-jet air-infused 4-person whirlpool. The coral stone tiles
remain cool and provide a slip-proof surface for wet feet. The alignment of Pegasus to the ecliptic of the sun guarantees full sun on the pool
year-round. The west end of the pool deck is always in full sun for sunbathing.
During the cooler winter-months, an automated roof-mounted dedicated solar
collector keeps the pool at 88 degrees. A stand-alone, user-controlled fountain jet arcs to the center of the
pool for ambiance or play. Pool technology includes an automatic roaming
vacuum, a bio-filter that reduces chlorine requirements by 66% to 0.5 ppm and
eliminates chemical testing and balancing. The sand filter need only run six
hours from dusk to midnight to maintain balance, with a bypass switch to run the
pump for vacuuming, during heavy pool usage or when using the whirlpool.

The covered area of the Solarium effectively doubles the enclosed
space of the Great Room when the sliding doors are open. This area can be
regulated for cooling via the sliding doors to the east and the dual Hunter
Original fans above. It is effectively sheltered from rain and sun and becomes
one of the favorite places to be day or night. Speakers from the surround sound system
provide music to the area. Both sides of the Solarium are fenced by virtually
invisible stainless cable railings.

The panoramic views to the east and west include spectacular
sunsets.
